At Online Counselling Therapies, we believe that everyone has the ability to lead a happy and fulfilling life. Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that mental and emotional well-being are integral to overall health, and that therapy can be a powerful tool for achieving this balance.
My name is John, I am a qualified and experienced BACP accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist specialising in working with clients online.
I offer a free first evaluation session with no committment, during which we will explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress.
In our sessions, you set the agenda and I bring to bear my knowledge of integrative therapy principles, cognitive-behavioural techniques, psychodynamic theory, and evidence-based science to help you attain your goals.
I will work with you to understand where the issues come from and what we can do to overcome them. This will involve working out why this is happening, then finding ways for you to regulate your physical reactions, thoughts, behaviours and environment, creating a sense of control and an ability to cope.
As a psychotherapist, my role is to guide and support you in your journey towards emotional resilience and growth.
Most of my clients see significant improvement within a month.

I have worked in the UK's National Health Service (NHS), initially providing psychodynamic therapy at St Pancras Hospital before transitioning to the Increasing Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) scheme in South London. In both locations, I delivered focused, short-term, evidence-based therapies to a wide and eclectic range of clients drawn from all over metropolitan London, UK. This experience gave me real insight into a diverse range of presenting complaints and considerable opportunity to develop my clinical skills in a variety of therapeutic modalities.
I established my private practice, specialising in online counselling and psychotherapy, using Zoom or other video chat platforms, telephone or text-based systems to reach a diverse range of individuals. This medium allows me to provide care to adults anywhere, irrespective of geographical boundaries and to provide the service that they need.
I work with individuals from various continents, backgrounds, and gender identities, providing a collaborative and client-led approach. In our sessions, you set the agenda, and I bring to bear my knowledge of therapy principles, cognitive-behavioural techniques, psychodynamic theory, and evidence-based science to help you attain your goals.
